Giving young people the opportunity to sail in a fun and safe environment.
Pirates is a ‘club within a club’ based at the Guernsey Yacht Club open to children aged 6 to 8 years old and aims to provide the opportunity for younger sailors to have the experience handling a small sailing boat in the safe confines of the Model Yacht Pond.
Given our Island's strong links with the sea we feel it is important that as many youngsters as possible have the opportunity to learn not only how to sail but also to lean the basics of seamanship in a safe, fun and friendly environment. We are pround to support the Pirates "Mini-Marathon" each year when the Pirates race in teams around the Model Yacht Pond.
